Gentle healing thanks to ear acupuncture

A lot of areas of dentistry can be covered with the help of ear acupuncture. For example, the needles can be used to support the treatment of gum inflammation or pain caused by clenching or grinding, leading to muscle relaxation. Strong gag reflexes or feelings of anxiety can also be alleviated during treatment.

Parodontitis - what is it?

Continuous inflammation of the gums can lead to bone loss over time and, in the worst case, to tooth loss. This is the clinical picture of periodontitis. Unfortunately, this disease does not cause pain, but many patients only notice a receding gum line or loosening of the teeth. An important and frequent sign of periodontitis is bleeding gums when brushing your teeth. If you have noticed this often, talk to us about this problem.

What are fixed dentures?
When we talk about fixed dentures, we mean inlays, partial crowns, crowns and bridges. These are firmly attached to the teeth after insertion and cannot usually be removed. Crowns and bridges can be made of different materials. In the non-visible posterior region, a metal is often used as the base material, either gold or a mixture of various non-precious metals (non-precious metals for short). These can also be covered with a ceramic layer so that only the tooth-colored ceramic surface is visible.
Crowns or bridges made of all-ceramic are suitable for the visible front tooth area, as they give a very natural appearance and there is no risk of the slightly darker base metal shining through.

Root canal treatment

Root canal treatment is particularly necessary in cases of toothache. Toothache occurs when the nerve in the tooth dies. This can be caused by a very large cavity, for example, because the bacteria can damage the nerve. However, another cause of root canal treatment can also be an accident that leads to a large part of the tooth breaking off. This often happens with the front incisors. Sometimes long-standing gum problems with bone loss can also lead to inflammation of the root tip and thus to root canal treatment, in which the bacteria migrate downwards from the gum pocket at the root of the tooth.
