FOR BETTER COMFORT AT YOUR WORKPLACE
SOME REGULAR PRACTICE AT YOUR COMPUTER AND WORKSTATION
CAN RELIEVE YOUR TENSIONS (Approximately 4 minutes)
http://www.travailsecuritairenb.ca/docs/officefrdist.pdf
Sitting at the computer for long periods often causes stiffness in the neck and shoulders and can occasionally cause lower back pain. Do the stretches illustrated below once every hour or so during the day, or whenever you feel stiff. Make a photocopy of this page and keep it handy. Also be sure to get up and walk around the office when you think of it. You'll feel better!
The triple dynamics of sitting
Standing has enabled man to make greater use of his arms and hands to perform complex and varied tasks. The transition from quadruped to biped was therefore
accompanied by a complete reorganization of the body's static phenomena.
A sophisticated and perfectly coordinated dynamic system of support and holding, as well as targeted
movements and counter-movements, ensure our balance. This highly precise mechanics is all the more sensitive to the slightest malfunction.
The posture of the body is the most important factor.
Postures adopted out of habit, or movements repeated over and over again, eventually lead to body imbalance and subject our organism to severe stress.
Possible consequences:
back strain, muscle cramps or joint pain.
The onset of these symptoms prevents us from concentrating on our work and thinking effectively. Movement
feeds on change.
For healthy sitting and dynamic thinking, we therefore recommend moving around and changing position regularly. Only a chair with the right equipment is able to
provide a satisfactory answer here.
At the same time, it's important to be able to move around and change position regularly.
Alternative to standing, sitting contributes first and foremost to relieving strain on the body, particularly the spine, muscles and blood circulation system. The advantages and
disadvantages of sitting, however, cannot be clearly determined, as they mainly depend:
WALDMANN BIODYNAMIC LIGHTING FOR BETTER WORK
PULSE VTL
BIODYNAMIC LIGHTING FOR BETTER WORK
PULSE VTL (Visual Timing Light) introduces the dynamics of natural daylight into buildings, focusing on the emotional and ergonomic aspects of lighting quality. Biodynamic lighting can sustainably improve the well-being of employees working in offices with little daylight, as well as during the winter months, when the internal clock has difficulty synchronizing with daylight.
Morning
In the morning, the body produces the hormone cortisol. This hormone stimulates metabolism and programs the body for daytime activity. First light stops the production of melatonin, the sleep hormone. At the start of work, PULSE VTL supports the activity of the stress hormone, cortisol, with stimulating cold light and high light intensity.
Midday
Cortisol gradually decreases over the course of the day. At midday, workers still show good performance. PULSE VTL should therefore continue to emit mainly cool, stimulating light.
Afternoon
In the afternoon, cortisol production in the body has decreased markedly, the active work phase is coming to an end. PULSE VTL supports this transitional period with a neutral mix of warm and cool light. Light intensity is gradually reduced.
Evening
The hormone melatonin causes fatigue, slows down bodily functions and lowers activity levels in preparation for nocturnal rest. If the body is subjected to biodynamic lighting during the day, melatonin levels will be high at night. The person will sleep well, feel rested and be active and productive again the next day. PULSE VTL accompanies the transition to the resting phase with reduced brightness and warm, relaxing light.
