The village lies between the left bank of the Limmat and the wooded north-eastern slope of the Heitersberg, which is interspersed with numerous ravines. While the old village center is located at the foot of the Heitersberg, the new quarters are located on the flat, narrow plain between the village center and the train station. The small hamlet of Sennenberg lies in a forest clearing at an altitude of around 660 meters.
