The ZSO Wettingen-Limmattal, a modern, efficient, and cost-effective organization, has continuously developed in line with new legislation. On July 1, 2001, the three municipalities of Neuenhof, Killwangen, and Spreitenbach merged to form the ZSO Limmattal. Three years later, on January 1, 2004, the municipality of Würenlos was also incorporated. The ZSO Wettingen-Limmattal was formed on January 1, 2014, from the ZSO Wettingen and the ZSO Limmattal, and at the same time , Wettingen, the largest of the contracting municipalities, took over the role of lead municipality. On January 1, 2017, the municipality of Bergdietikon was added.

The ZSO Wettingen-Limmattal is governed by a municipal agreement. The Civil Protection Commission – the link between the ZSO Wettingen-Limmattal and the municipal authorities – consists of one representative from each of the participating municipalities, the ZS commander, and two of his deputies. The commission decides on the strategic direction of our organization and ensures political support.

Floods, power outages, or pandemics – we are constantly and meticulously preparing for these and other events so that, in the event of an incident, we can offer the residents of "our" municipalities and our partner organizations the support and care they need at all times.
