Zur Linde Kyburg

Zur Linde is a historic restaurant in the picturesque village of Kyburg. The building, which was constructed in the second half of the 17th century, is the birthplace of Wilhelm Friedrich Hertenstein. Hertenstein was an important politician who served as a cantonal councilor, national councilor, and member of the Council of States, and was elected to the Federal Council in 1879, where he headed the Military Department until his death in 1888.

About 40 years ago, Willy Rüegg acquired this historic house and renovated it thoroughly, so that today it shines in new splendor. The old wooden beams, low ceilings, and various rooms give the restaurant its unique charm, which is a harmonious blend of tradition and modernity.

Since January 2024, I, Nicole Jordan, have had the honor of leasing this beautiful restaurant from Willy Rüegg. Three years earlier, Willy introduced me to the history of the Linde, which I, as a native of Kyburg, am particularly pleased about. I now continue to run this traditional restaurant with great passion.

Our kitchen offers a selection of culinary dishes that are both traditional and modern, prepared with fresh, regional Swiss products. Whether for a cozy meal or for special occasions such as weddings, birthdays, hiking groups, club and company events – we look forward to giving you and your guests a few wonderful hours and a break from everyday life.
