Panpipe

I was born on November 30, 1959 and originally trained as an organ pipe maker. I received instrumental training on piano, organ and double bass in my youth. During my many years of work in organ building, including a two-year stay in Denmark, I discovered my passion for the panpipe. In 1984 I began to build panpipes professionally for the DAJOERI company (CH). As the panpipe is very similar to the organ, I was able to apply all my knowledge of organ pipes and sound production to the construction of these handmade instruments.

Parallel to the building process, I learned to play the instrument with Jöri Murk. I have been passing on my knowledge at DAJOERI panflute schools in various Swiss cities since 1985.

As an instrumentalist on the Swiss panpipe scene, I perform as a soloist and in a wide variety of ensembles. I have been enthusiastically received by a diverse audience. On the pan flute, with its wide range of expression, I enjoy performing great opera arias just as convincingly as folk love songs that have become classical. The spectrum ranges from folk, jazz and light music to classical music. Sometimes daring, new line-ups such as panflute-didgeridoo, panflute-brassband or panflute-swyzerörgeli show that I am always open to new ideas. I will continue to explore new musical realms with the panflute in the future.
