Pan flute

I was born on November 30, 1959. I originally trained as an organ pipe maker. In my youth, I received instrumental training in piano, organ, and double bass. During my many years of work in organ building, including a two-year stay in Denmark, I discovered my love for the pan flute. In 1984, I began building pan flutes professionally for the company DAJOERI (CH). Since the pan flute is very similar to the organ, I was able to apply all my knowledge of organ pipes and sound production to the construction of these handmade instruments.

At the same time as building the instruments, I learned to play them from Jöri Murk. Since 1985, I have been passing on my knowledge at DAJOERI pan flute schools in various Swiss cities.

As an instrumentalist on the Swiss pan flute scene, I perform as a soloist and in a wide variety of ensembles. I have been enthusiastically received by a diverse audience. With the pan flute and its wide range of expression, I enjoy performing grand opera arias just as convincingly as classic folk love songs. The spectrum ranges from folk, jazz, and light music to classical music. Sometimes daring new ensembles such as pan flute-didgeridoo, pan flute-brass band, or pan flute-Schwyzerörgeli demonstrate my openness to new ideas. I will continue to explore new musical realms with the pan flute in the future.
