Since 1833 the bakery-pastry shop Café Kern has existed in Laufen. Our long tradition obliges us to produce the highest quality products from our in-house bakery - patisserie and confectionery.

We only use the best natural ingredients to make crispy baked goods and delicious desserts. Whenever possible, we source our ingredients from regional suppliers. In our café - restaurant we also serve seasonal, freshly prepared dishes, complemented by varied daily menus.

Bakery and patisserie

We attach great importance to traditional, expert production. Our trained bakers make everything by hand. In our shop you will receive bread and pastries of the same high quality day after day.

The raw materials are always fresh and of the best quality. We use butter instead of margarine for selected baked goods, such as our specialties Butterzopf and Buttergipfeli. For an enjoyable taste experience!

 

Confiserie

Creamy-sweet, delicate-bitter made from the finest ingredients - try the tasty pieces from our confectionery. At Café Kern, we are particularly committed to the craftsmanship of the confectioner 

.

We create our pralines, truffles, patisserie, cakes and our Vieille Prune truffles, which have been awarded the gold medal by Swiss Bakery Trophy with great attention to detail and the best raw materials, such asCrand Crû Couverture. In 2012, our Whisky Truffles were awarded Best Confectionery Item.

We can also create your very own wedding cake.

 

Restaurant / Café

In our restaurant and café you can choose from a small but balanced menu menu. Whether you have a sweet tooth, a small appetite or a big appetite, there is a choice for everyone. Every day there are two current menus to complement the offerings on the menu.

Our toasts with various ingredients or our puff pastries with homemade fillings are very popular. We only use fresh and seasonal products for our dishes, which we prepare with care.

The kitchen is open all day!

 

Aperitif and buffet

Corporate event, family celebration, wedding, party, aperitif... We take care of the catering for your event and provide food for your guests.

You can put together the meat, anti-pasti or dessert buffet from our range; for example, cream or strawberry slices by the meter, mini patisserie, fruit salad or chocomousse for dessert. For weddings, birthdays and anniversaries, we also create cakes.

In order to choose the right wine for your guests, you can taste various wines from our drinks supplier before the event.
