Philosophy

Ours is a story of passion and curiosity, which began in the 1990s within the walls of a renowned restaurant, where an enthusiastic young man started his journey in the world of hospitality. Through perseverance and dedication, he rose through the ranks, eventually managing some of the most prestigious venues in Lugano, always keeping his initial enthusiasm alive.

The philosophy of The Circle is rooted in a deep love for the culinary arts and an inclination toward discovery.

We are committed to offering a unique fusion experience, where the delicate and refined flavors of Japan meet the intensity and vibrance of Mexican cuisine.

This fusion is not merely a combination of tastes, but a culinary journey that invites our guests to explore new gastronomic horizons, challenging and delighting the palate with a perfect balance between two rich and diverse culinary cultures.

The Story

Opened in May 2018, The Circle was born from a journey rich in experiences within Lugano’s gastronomic landscape.

Founded by Fetah Gigollaj, who brings years of experience in managing major food concepts and ethnic restaurants, the project came to life thanks to his ambition and curiosity for recipes from around the world.

The journey began with “feta restaurant,” which evolved in January 2022 into The Circle Food & Drink in Lugano.

It was during this phase that our concept was renewed, placing emphasis on the Japan–Mexico fusion — a bold choice that brought a breath of freshness and originality to the menu, while staying true to the desire to explore and surprise.

The goal is clear: not simply to serve a meal, but to offer a journey through the flavors of the world. From the aromas of Mexico to the traditions of Japan, through Mediterranean dishes and beyond, every bite tells a story and invites guests to discover something new.

In May 2024, the second The Circle opened in Sementina, further strengthening the success and expansion of the brand.
