Company history and strategy

The Efeulaube flower shop was founded on November 21, 1998, in Stäfa. On September 11, 2010, an acquisition was made as a result of succession planning, which led to the Efeulaube flower shop moving to a central location at Kugelgasse 24 in Männedorf. This significantly increased both the shop space and customer footfall. The strategy is proving successful today and will continue in the future: offering exquisite floristry of the highest quality at an optimal price-performance ratio. At the Efeulaube flower shop, you are sure to find what you are looking for, whether it be a bouquet, an arrangement, or a plant. We specialize in decorations for weddings, christenings, birthdays, and other festive occasions. Funeral arrangements are also part of our range of services.

Inspiration and symbolism

The ivy-covered vine wall in the garden of our home and the virtues of our favorite plant inspired us to choose the name Efeulaube. Ivy has had a significant meaning in some cultures for thousands of years. The ancient Egyptians revered ivy as a sacred plant. In Greek cultures, ivy was used to make victory wreaths for returning soldiers. In a plant symbolism developed in the Middle Ages, evergreen ivy was considered a symbol of fidelity, immortality, and eternal life.

Even today, ivy still plays an important role in medicine, especially for skin conditions and respiratory problems.
