Comprehensive medical care

The Malters Medical Centre was created in 2010 from the merger of the three local GP practices  of Dr. Bruno Zaugg, Dr. Eric Wigger (predecessor Dr. Hans Wehrmüller) and Dr. Bernhard Estermann. Population growth, the increase in the number of elderly people and the growing medical possibilities and necessities required a continuous adjustment of medical capacities. Currently, five doctors work in our GP practice  since May 2019, our team has been supplemented by Regina Babica specialist in gynecology, since November 2019 Dr. med. Thomas Baur and since April 2021 Dr. med. Julia Zurmühle . Our aim is to provide individual, holistic and consistent care in the doctor-patient relationship. Our medical practice assistants are also becoming increasingly important, as they relieve us of many tasks and are becoming more and more competent.

The medical center had to be expanded by a further six consultation rooms after just five years.

We aim to provide optimal and comprehensive medical care for the local population, together with another medical practice in Malters. This is only possible thanks to excellent cooperation with the Spitex, the Bodenmatt retirement and nursing home in Malters, the Sonne residential care group in Schwarzenberg, the Immomänt institution, the three physiotherapy institutes and other individuals and organizations that also actively and competently care for the health and well-being of the population.
