The history of our company; since 1947 in Ticino

The history of Nimis SA began in 1947, when Mr. Jacques Nimis' father started selling washing machines. At that time he was the first to specialize in this field and did everything himself, from sales to service.

In 1951 Mr. Nimis's father rented a small store in downtown Lugano on Via Ariosto, the first official point of contact with customers, where he remained until 1995.

The year the firm moved to the Pian Scairolo, and where it remains today.

As the industry in which it operates has evolved over these more than 70 years, so, in fact, has the company been able to do within it, consequently managing to maintain and strengthen its position.

Today's structure made up of the three joint-stock companies - in addition to Nimis SA Noranco, there is in fact Nimis Nord SA in Bellinzona (founded in 1978, although the store had already been there since 1965) and Nimis Tre Valli SA in Biasca (founded in 1990) - of which each manager is a shareholder, in fact allows them to cover the entire Ticino territory, managing their branch independently.

It deals specifically with:

-          Kitchen appliances: oven, glass-ceramic hob, hood, dishwasher, refrigerator, freezer, microwave and more;

-         Laundry appliances: washer, dryer, counter, secomat and more;

-         Small appliances: iron, food processor, vacuum cleaner, hair dryer and more.

Specializing in the market for replacement of built-in appliances with the possibility of niche and countertop modifications, we also collaborate with various kitcheners with whom we perform custom kitchen fittings and furniture.
