Nimis SA, which has been operating in the Ticino region for over 70 years, specializes in the sale, delivery, and home repair of top-brand appliances on the Swiss market.

The history of our company; in Ticino since 1947

The history of Nimis SA began in 1947, when Jacques Nimis' father started selling washing machines. At that time, he was the first to specialize in this field and did everything himself, from sales to customer service.

In 1951, Mr. Nimis' father rented a small shop in the center of Lugano, in Via Ariosto, the first official point of contact with customers, where he remained until 1995.

That was the year the company moved to Pian Scairolo, where it is still located today.

As the sector in which it operates has evolved over more than 70 years, so has the company within it, successfully maintaining and strengthening its position.

Today's structure consists of three limited companies: in addition to Nimis SA Noranco, there is also Nimis Nord SA in Bellinzona (founded in 1978, although the store had been in existence since 1965) and Nimis Tre Valli SA in Biasca (founded in 1990) – each of which is managed by a shareholder, allowing them to cover the entire Ticino region, independently managing their own branches.

 

It deals specifically with:

-          Kitchen appliances: ovens, glass-ceramic hobs, hoods, dishwashers, refrigerators, freezers, microwaves, and more;

-          Laundry appliances: washing machines, dryers, meters, secomat, and more;

- Small appliances: iron, food processor, vacuum cleaner, hair dryer, and more.

Specializing in the replacement of built-in appliances with the possibility of niche and worktop modifications, we also collaborate with various kitchen designers with whom we create custom-made kitchen furnishings and furniture.
