WHAT CAN OSTEOPATHY TREAT? : http://www.osteopathie-monthey.ch
Osteopathy is effective in treating functional disorders.
For examples of functional disorders: see the headings under the menu https://www.osteopathie-monthey.ch/osteopathie/indications/
- Musculoskeletal system: low back pain, sciatica, back pain, neck pain, sprains, tendonitis, etc
- Neurovegetative system: sleep disorder, anxiety, stress, migraine, headache, etc
- EAR SYSTEM: otitis, rhinitis, sinusitis, vertigo, ringing in the ears, etc
- Cardiopulmonary system: bronchitis, circulatory disorder, hemorrhoids, etc
- Digestive system: stomach acid, reflux, regurgitation, diarrhea, constipation, etc
- Urogenital system: cystitis, urinary urgency, menstrual disorder, pregnancy monitoring, etc
However, even if osteopathy cannot act on specific conditions (e.g. infection, tumour, fracture, etc.), once the diagnosis has been made, alongside medical treatment, osteopathy can have an action on the consequences, in particular certain pains, by releasing tension from surrounding structures, and on the psychosomatic approach that may result.
For this reason, your osteopath takes the time to question you and examine you carefully, in order to establish the right course of treatment. The aim of treatment is to stop the complaint for which you are consulting as quickly and effectively as possible.
To achieve this goal, the osteopath releases mobility restrictions that create dysfunctions within the body's various systems, in order to improve function. In some more complex cases, this will consist of an improvement in the parameters of pain frequency and intensity, mobility or the characteristics of the functional disorder.
PROCESS OF THE CONSULTATION:
Osteopathy is not just about joint manipulation.
In fact, well-managed care implies:
- A comprehensive history (questionnaire)
- A clinical examination (medical and/or osteopathic)
- Recognize clinical pictures drawn up in other related branches
- On this basis, make a differential diagnosis to determine whether the osteopathic treatment should be undertaken or whether the patient should be referred to a doctor for further treatment or investigations
- Treat conditions and diseases within the scope of osteopathic activity.
