Bergkäserei Mühlrüti

The Mühlrüti mountain cheese dairy is located 760 meters above sea level, nestled
in the Toggenburg hills. Matthias Künzle runs the small family business together with his wife Yvonne in the second generation. The trained dairy technologist took over the cheese dairy in 2021 from his father, Michael Künzle.

 

Fourteen surrounding farms supply the Mühlrüti mountain cheese dairy with their milk. There, it is expertly and carefully processed into delicious cheese. The whey, a by-product of cheese production, is fed to the pigs in the farm's own pigsty next door. Our specialties are available in local village shops or directly from our self-service vending machine right in front of the cheese dairy.
