Founded in 1969, looks to the future with new investments
The Publishing Company of the Corriere del Ticino - since August 2010 Centro Stampa Ticino SA - was founded in Lugano in 1969 with the aim of offering the Foundation for the Corriere del Ticino a technical equipment equipped with the most modern means for the printing of its daily newspaper and in addition, commercially exploit the available equipment in a complete and rational way by extending the activity to other printing jobs.
In 1980, in Ticino, it was the first printing company specializing in newspaper printing to introduce photocomposition by equipping itself with a Linotype duplex system. In 1991 it moved to the Muzzano location where it placed the new Wifag OF.9 offset press and the Mueller and Martini dispatch plant, which went into production in January 1992.
In July 2008 with the inauguration in the new Ferag AG dispatch department, the realization phase of the Centro Stampa Ticino SA began, which was realized in August 2010 when the new "Wifag 371 Evolution" press went into operation. Currently, the facilities allow the production of newspapers up to a 64-page all color foliation or in tabloid format up to 124 pages. The Center, which prints almost all Ticino products, can produce at the rate of 48,000 copies per hour.
