Description
CDS osteopath (federally recognized)
The human body is a whole, a complex functional unit. It was this observation that I made while treating many patients as a physiotherapist, and which led me to seek a more global approach, integrating these concepts of unity. I then decided to deepen my knowledge by continuing my training with studies in osteopathy, a profession I've been practising for over 20 years now!
.These studies enabled me to discover the very essence of osteopathy. A lesion in a structure (bone, ligament, muscle, viscera...) will automatically lead to an imbalance in the corresponding function (locomotion, digestion...) At the same time, the body has an incredible capacity for self-regulation. All it wants to do is restore and maintain its health.
The osteopath will be interested not only in your physical condition but also in your general state. This information is very important to help the osteopath form an idea of the "terrain" he or she will be working on.
This is why the osteopath will be interested not only in your physical condition, but also in your general state of health.
This is why, during the first consultation, the practitioner will fill in a detailed anamnesis with you in order to establish the most precise diagnosis possible, which he or she will complete with osteopathic palpatory tests. Stress and tension imply imbalances, a general exhaustion that will contribute to the appearance of physical symptoms.
We'll treat the fit athlete who's had a fall while cycling differently from the person close to burn-out who consults us for torticollis and headaches.
"Accompanying others is not taking them where we want, it's walking with them in the direction they're capable of going." (Thierry Janssen)
