We are members of the SVB (Swiss Funeral Directors Association) and Oscar Gerber holds a federal certificate of proficiency. For four generations, the Gerber family has been providing expert and discreet funeral services in Olten and the surrounding area. We carry out our work in this sensitive field with sensitivity and understanding for people in exceptional circumstances.

Today, Jenny Gerber and her husband Oscar Gerber are jointly responsible for the family-owned company Allgemeine Bestattungsdienste Gerber AG. Together, we will continue to strive to provide our services to the public, the authorities, and all those confronted with death—day and night.

Authorities

In the event of a death at home, inform your family doctor as soon as possible. If they are unavailable, call the emergency doctor. If you need urgent assistance from the authorities, contact the police (tel. no. 117). Once the death of the deceased person has been confirmed, a death certificate will be issued to the relatives, which is essential for dealing with the authorities and the funeral home. The doctor who attended the deceased or the management of a clinic, home, or institution where the death occurred is required to report the death to the civil registry office. Otherwise, deaths of family members must be reported in writing or in person within two days.

We will be happy to advise you on all matters relating to the death at our offices. On request, we will also be happy to visit you at your home. To simplify the necessary formalities, please have at least the death certificate and the family booklet (for married couples) and, if applicable, the residence or settlement permit ready.

Remember...
to inform other relatives, friends, employers, the AHV office, and, if applicable, landlords about the death. We are here to advise and assist you with all other questions and tasks related to a death (probate office, insurance companies, etc.). We are here to help you at any time.

On request, we can organize

• the funeral reception in a restaurant of your choice
• the urn burial at sea, in the forest, or at your home
• Certified organists and musicians
• the planting and/or maintenance of the grave site
