In Geneva today, there is a shortage of around 3,000 childcare places. This shortage puts parents in situations of considerable difficulty. The former Department of Solidarity and Employment, in the context of solidarity jobs, wished to reflect on this issue and called on our foundation.

The issue of the chronic shortage of childcare places is particularly close to our hearts. This is one of the reasons why the 022 Families Foundation accepted the challenge of creating a new form of childcare for pre-school children. This project was conceived and set up in collaboration with the City of Geneva's Délégation à la petite enfance.

Mary Poppins is first and foremost a new form of training that then leads to a commitment to the company with an open-ended contract. This new form of childcare takes place in your home. It has been designed to meet your needs as closely as possible. It works on full days of 10 hours per day of compulsory care between 07:30 at the earliest and 18:30 at the latest (for example from 8:00 - 18:00 or 07:30 - 17:30 etc.) from Monday to Friday and only in the canton of Geneva.

Care is a minimum of one day a week, with regular hours and over long periods (6 months minimum with some exceptions).
The role of the Mary Poppins parental assistant is to take over from the parents during their absence. She takes care of the child and his living environment, and performs tasks directly related to him, such as tidying and cleaning his room or preparing his meals. She will take him out to the park and to the local toy library.

The company offers regularly a program of possible activities, such as: exhibitions in museums, story readings in libraries as well as new game cards corresponding to the seasons and cooking recipes that can be made with children.
