Physiotherapy

Physiotherapy is all about a person's physical functioning. It aims to improve movement sequences, increase physical performance and treat pain. Physiotherapy can only be studied at universities of applied sciences. The bachelor's degree qualifies graduates to practice the profession.

Physiotherapy deals with people of all ages who suffer from functional disorders of the musculoskeletal system, nervous system and internal organs as a result of an accident, illness or disability. Physiotherapy uses specific functional analyses to determine the causes of movement abnormalities or functional limitations (stiffness, balance disorders, fatigue, etc.). From this, it derives an appropriate treatment to strengthen body awareness, facilitate movement, alleviate pain, increase strength and endurance, improve coordination and balance, train the cardiovascular system or breathing. In order to preventively maintain or improve functional capacity, physiotherapy is also increasingly involved in health promotion.

Pilates

Pilates is a specific core stabilization training, primarily of the pelvic floor, abdominal and back muscles.

Most back problems are caused by muscular weaknesses.

Training with the Pilates principle strengthens the small segmental back muscles, thus ideally stabilizing the spine.
