Café and meeting place Negropont

The Café Negropont is run by volunteer senior citizens and is a popular meeting place.
Fine lunch menus are offered as well as social events and exhibitions organized. 
Pro Senectute Rorschach has supported the café since it opened in 2014.

The team warmly welcomes new guests as well as new volunteers.

Social time connects, social time gives meaning

When proactive citizens want to use their time for the benefit of older people, Pro Senectute offers meaningful fields of activity and helps to organize social exchange.

A total of 2,200 people are involved in Pro Senectute Canton St. Gallen and contribute around 270,000 hours of work per year in their social time: as home helpers, as leaders of courses and group events, in militia bodies, as local representatives. Participation and co-determination are a matter of course. The community with other committed people is cultivated. Depending on the activity, social time is financially rewarded.
