Negropont café and meeting place

The Negropont café is run by senior volunteers and is a popular meeting place.
It offers delicious lunch menus and organizes social events and exhibitions.
Pro Senectute Rorschach has supported the café since it opened in 2014.

The team warmly welcomes new guests and new volunteers.

Social volunteering connects people and gives meaning to life

When proactive citizens want to devote their time to helping older people, Pro Senectute offers meaningful activities and helps to organize social interaction.

A total of 2,200 people are involved with Pro Senectute Canton St. Gallen, contributing around 270,000 hours of social time per year: as home helpers, course and group event leaders, in voluntary organizations, and as local representatives. Having a say and helping to shape the organization is a matter of course. The community with other volunteers is nurtured. Depending on the activity, social time is financially rewarded.
