Office of in St. Niklaus VS
The Mountain Guide Museum (Zaniglas) is located in the Meierturm, the oldest surviving building in the Nikolai Valley (built in 1273). It is dedicated to the extraordinary history of the St. Niklaus mountain guide dynasties, who completed over 300 first ascents worldwide and significantly shaped the mountain guiding profession. In addition to alpinist history, the museum houses an impressive collection of regional minerals as well as a local heritage museum with exhibits on the crafts and daily life of ancestors. The location also serves as a local tourism information point.
