Vacallo is a Swiss municipality in Canton Ticino of about 3,300 inhabitants, with an area of about 1.59 km2, nestled on the slopes of Mount Bisbino at an altitude of 367 m above sea level.

Side the border between Italy and Switzerland, it borders the municipalities of Chiasso, Morbio Inferiore, Breggia, Maslianico (IT-CO), Cernobbio (IT-CO) and Como (IT-CO). The municipality has all public infrastructure such as school, kindergarten, bank, restaurants and some stores. The village center can be reached on foot in a few minutes. Public transportation (bus) connects Vacallo with Chiasso and the region daily with several runs.

Significant Coat of Arms: Vacallo has always been a town with an agricultural vocation, as also recalled by the three bunches of grapes in the municipal coat of arms symbolizing the three districts (Pizzamiglio, Roggiana and San Simone), separated by a white "V", the initial of the municipality but also of the fourth hamlet that is Vacallo Alta.
