Tooth-colored fillings
High-quality composite fillings are made of plastic and ceramic particles. The application possibilities of these fillings are comparable to those of amalgam, but unlike amalgam they do not contain any heavy metals (mercury). Reconstructions with composite allow a tooth-colored and aesthetically pleasing restoration of the tooth for small to medium-sized defects.
Ceramic inlays
Ceramic inlays are produced in two treatment steps. At the first appointment, an impression of the tooth is made after grinding. The dental laboratory then uses this impression to produce a customized ceramic filling, which is bonded to the tooth during the second treatment appointment. Ceramic inlays offer excellent aesthetics, a long service life and the possibility of treating large defects in the tooth without further loss of substance.
Veneers
Veneers are wafer-thin ceramic veneers. They are produced using the same method as ceramic inlays (see ceramic inlays). However, these veneers only cover the visible parts of the respective teeth. Discoloration, slight misalignments, unsightly tooth shapes or gaping front teeth can be permanently corrected with veneers in a gentle way.
Orthodontics
Orthodontics is a specialist field of dentistry. It deals with the diagnosis and treatment of misaligned teeth and jaws. The appliances and devices used for this purpose are commonly referred to as "braces".
In principle, orthodontic treatment is not only possible for children or adolescents. Many adults also suffer from misaligned teeth, which often still require treatment.
More than 30% of people who currently wear braces are adults.
New technologies have made it possible for these appliances to be invisible.
Treatment options :
- Removable braces
- Fixed appliances
- invisalign
- Incognito surgery
Dental surgery (oral surgery), maxillofacial surgery
We can well understand that a visit to the maxillofacial surgeon is a "delicate" matter for you. After all, it's about your natural smile, your healthy chewing function, your expressive face - your very personal charisma. Thanks to our special qualification as a double-appointed doctor/dentist and special training as a maxillofacial surgeon and close cooperation with experienced dentists and orthodontists at the dental center, we are very familiar with the complicated anatomy of the face, complex jaw function and dental health. We can therefore treat the full spectrum of diseases, injuries, injuries, deformities and aesthetic concerns in this sensitive region of the body: Starting with comparatively simple dental surgical procedures such as the removal of wisdom teeth, cysts, tongue-lip frenulum, stubbed root tips- to complex operations such as maxillary sinus surgery, bone augmentation, large implant restorations of the entire jaw and malocclusion corrections (dysgnathia). In our practice you have the rare opportunity to have modern dentistry and maxillofacial surgery completely in one house - offered. This guarantees: Short distances, individual solutions and optimal results. The personality and individual requirements of the patient (anxiety patients, high-risk patients) as well as the complexity of the surgical procedure determine whether the treatment is carried out under anesthesia, twilight sleep or local anesthesia, for example. If treatment under inpatient conditions is necessary, we have access to a network of state-of-the-art facilities (general and private hospitals) - one contact for all facial issues! This refers to minor dental surgical procedures, some of which are also performed by specialized dentists in the oral cavity. However, complex situations are referred to a specialist in oral surgery (referral letter), as they can perform the procedure much more frequently, routinely and therefore more gently, and also have special surgical logistics (operating light, special X-ray machine, special instruments). These procedures are usually performed on an outpatient basis under local anesthesia. Your dentist (whether in the dental center or from a dental practice outside of the dental center) recommends, for example, the removal of wisdom teeth or treatment of an infection at the root tip, a dental implant, bone augmentation... Let us refer you to a specialist for this service. Your dentist knows that you are in competent hands with us and will receive a treatment report, copies of the x-rays and the results at the end of the treatment: A satisfied patient back! Of course, you can also register directly for surgical treatment or obtain a second opinion, expert opinion or a comparative offer.
These are the most common:
Wisdom tooth removal, apicoectomies, cyst removal, mucosal tumor removal, bone edge removal or smoothing, tissue sampling, treatment of oral mucosal diseases, bone augmentation, dental implants, mucosal grafts, connective tissue grafts, Exposure of displaced teeth, complex tooth extractions, vestibuloplasty, tongue and lip ligament corrections, treatment of high-risk medical patients (bleeding tendency, osteoporosis, diabetes, heart disease, irradiated patients, patients undergoing biphosphonate therapy).
One of the main focuses of our practice is dental implantology. No other form of tooth replacement comes as close to the original state as the implant.
The small "post" made of body-neutral pure titanium replaces the tooth root and grows firmly into the jawbone. Dental crowns, bridges or even dentures can be fixed onto this foundation. After the restoration, you will once again have the comfort of a firmly anchored tooth. You will feel no restrictions when laughing, speaking and chewing. From single-tooth restorations to edentulous jaws, we can offer you individual implant solutions that provide you with long-term comfort and aesthetics. And you can rest assured: When it comes to implantology, we work closely with the world's leading implant manufacturers (Nobel Biocare, Straumann, Camlog, Biomed) and Swiss specialist laboratories. Let us advise you personally and comprehensively.
What is the best masticatory and esthetic restoration, what treatment and time expenditure is necessary for this, what sophisticated restoration can I afford financially. Several thousand implants have been placed in our practice and hundreds of bone augmentations have been successfully performed. Today, there is practically no situation where an experienced oral surgeon cannot provide you with the prerequisites for successful masticatory rehabilitation with dental implants. The individual requirements determine the duration, scope and cost of treatment. Of course, we will provide you with a detailed cost estimate after a clinical and radiological examination.
Jaw surgery:
The face and jaw are anatomically and functionally highly complex parts of the human body. Their comprehensive understanding and professional medical treatment require holistic medical and dental specialization. We treat the entire spectrum of diseases, injuries, consequences of accidents and malformations in this sensitive region of the body: from comparatively simple surgical procedures under local anesthesia to complex masticatory rehabilitation with bone augmentation and dental implants under anesthesia. In most cases, there is close cooperation with referring physicians or co-treaters. For example, the orthodontist (malocclusion, tooth retention, wisdom tooth removal, retention anchor screws), family doctor (pain assessment) or dentist (bone ridge augmentation with bone grafts). A state-of-the-art computerized tomography program (DVT) provides high-precision 3-dimensional planning images. Precise patient and treatment documentation and recommendations for possible follow-up treatment are sent to the referring doctor at the end of treatment.
These are the most common:
correction of jaw malgrowth (dysgnathia), asymmetries, maxillary sinus surgery, correction of nasal breathing obstructions, sleep apnea treatment, alveolar ridge augmentation with bone grafts, TMJ treatment, treatment of facial pain conditions, treatment of tumors of the oral cavity and facial skin, treatment of inflammation of the oral mucosa, dental bed, bone and facial glands.
Facial surgery:
The face makes us unique and unmistakable. No wonder that even the smallest changes caused by diseases (skin tumors), injuries (fractures, soft tissue wounds), deformities (protruding ears) or aging processes can severely affect our well-being. All procedures, whether reconstructive (e.g. scar corrections) or cosmetic (wrinkle corrections), must always be carried out from an aesthetic point of view.
The most common of these are:
scar corrections, wrinkle corrections by underlayment or injection, Botox injections, lip plastics, eyelid plastics, chin plastics, cheekbone augmentation, ear pinning plastics, forehead lifts, correction of asymmetries, dentures and implants, prosthetic dentures.
Teeth can be severely damaged by incorrect dental care, tooth decay, periodontitis, malocclusion or an accident. In general, a distinction is made between fixed and removable dentures.
If the severely damaged tooth can still be preserved, covering it with a crown (with or without pin anchoring) is a treatment option.
If a tooth has to be removed, there are various options for closing the resulting gap. Depending on how many teeth need to be replaced and how healthy the jawbone is, bridges, implants, model cast dentures, telescopic dentures, full dentures or implant-supported dentures can be used.
Child dentistry and anxiety patients
We have a big heart for our little patients and are very well equipped to treat children.
Children function differently to adults, they are now people. They do not have the insight to accept something unpleasant now so that it will be better later, which is why there is sometimes no second chance when treating children. Chance gives. The first session should always be a pure prophylaxis or check-up appointment so that the child does not automatically associate a visit to the dentist with pain, but with pleasure.
The behavior of the parents is very important. The fear of the mother/father is often unintentionally transferred to the child. Please avoid statements such as "We're going to the dentist, it doesn't hurt either." After all, you don't say: "We're going to the bakery, it doesn't hurt either!" We have put together a small guide for your child's first visit with us.
The first impression is crucial! New experiences / information are always stored in the brain together with feelings and an evaluation. In the case of contact with a situation that has already been experienced, the brain hierarchically recalls the evaluation first and then the memory.
The anxiety patient knows that it is unfounded, but is still afraid. This is why some are afraid of the color white, react to smells with discomfort, find the trigger of fear in syringes, drills, noises, colors.
The situation in the dentist's chair is perceived as threatening by the anxious patient as well as the child; surrounded by staff, with no possibility of escape, lying on their backs, the staff masked up to their ears, without influence on what is happening, without knowing what is happening.
Dental hygiene
The treatments carried out by our dental hygienists range from plaque to tartar removal. Your tasks also include patient information such as: tooth brushing techniques, applications of various auxiliary methods (dental floss, interdental brushes, toothpicks, etc.) We recommend one session per year to ensure effective control of your oral hygiene and to allow early detection of possible dental problems.
Whitening
Whitening teeth is a safe and effective therapy that can achieve long-term whitening of the teeth. Tooth decay-free teeth and the absence of old plastic fillings are a prerequisite for bleaching. Veneers can also be an ideal alternative for very thin enamel and hypersensitive teeth. There are two different bleaching methods.
Home bleaching
After professional teeth cleaning, an impression is first taken and a customized, wafer-thin and flexible tray is made. The patient wears this tray with the inserted gel, which consists of a weak acid, for approx. 2 hours every day. The treatment is monitored by a dental check-up and should lead to the desired result after a few weeks.
In-office bleaching
A highly concentrated bleaching agent is applied after professional tooth cleaning in the dental practice. This treatment takes about an hour. The whitening achieved with both methods can last for several years, depending on your habits (coffee, black tea, cola, red wine, smoking, etc.). However, if the result diminishes, the tooth can be whitened again.
Root canal treatment
If the nerve of a tooth is inflamed or even dead, root canal treatment is an attempt to preserve the tooth. Nerve inflammation is usually caused by the ingress of bacteria from deep caries, dental trauma or periodontitis.
Nerve inflammation can occur with or without pain. If such a tooth is not treated, the inflammation can spread from the tooth to the jawbone and even cause an abscess and ultimately the loss of the tooth.
Procedure of root canal treatment
After the tooth has been desensitized, the nerve is removed using specially developed instruments. The tooth root itself remains intact. The root canals are then cleaned with special instruments and disinfectant solutions. By fighting the bacteria in this way, an attempt is made to heal the inflammation.
Depending on the number of roots and therefore also the root canals of the tooth and the severity of the inflammation, the complexity of the treatment can vary and can take several weeks.
After cleaning and disinfection, the root canals are sealed again with a filling so that bacteria can no longer spread.
If there is only a small amount of residual tooth substance left, it is usually necessary to provide the root-treated tooth with a crown to ensure long-term stability.
