A therapy begins with an initial consultation where we get to know each other. This initial consultation can also extend over two or three sessions. The client can ask questions about the way I work and I get an initial picture of what has prompted this person to come to therapy. In most cases, this step is prompted by suffering, or perhaps the desire to understand something that is still hidden or buried, to learn something, to reveal a secret or a taboo that has been felt. For me, this conversation is a real search for clues. Together with my clients, I want to find the trail that we can use to approach the problem and also the trail that can then lead to possible solutions. Sometimes these traces are buried, sometimes they lead far back into the past, even to our ancestors. Sometimes they lead to an environment that has a disturbing effect on people and makes them suffer. Sometimes the search is lengthy, but usually it leads to the goal.

We put experiences into context like pieces of a puzzle. For example, we ask ourselves: What was at the forefront of your life at the time, what was your state of mind at the time, how did you perceive your surroundings, what prevented you from doing something you would have liked to do? These and similar questions come up. So let's take a look together and we're sure to find clues.

On the basis of this conversation, I can then outline my approach and also present methodological options that can be used sensibly (see more under Methods).
