Technology Center Witterswil (TZW)

Concept

The Technology Center Witterswil (TZW) is an important center for innovation and technology located in the Leimental region of Solothurn. It has a long tradition in research and development, as it originally emerged from the Novartis agrobiological testing station. Following the structural change in the chemical industry in the greater Basel area and the emergence of the cross-border "BioValley", the demand for modern laboratory and office space remains high.

The TZW aims to contribute to this growth by supporting start-ups and spin-offs in the life sciences sector in particular. It offers these companies a modern and affordable infrastructure that is available to them during their start-up phase. In addition to the physical infrastructure, the resident companies benefit from an open transfer of know-how and accompanying support. With these services, the TZW aims to establish itself as an attractive location for modern technologies and create a green center for innovation.

Location

The Witterswil Technology Center has excellent transport connections. The streetcar stop is just a five-minute walk away, and streetcar line 10 connects the center to Basel SBB station via Therwil, Oberwil, Bottmingen and Binningen in around 30 minutes. The TZW is also attractive for commuters from the Alsatian Jura: the nearby municipality of Leymen can be reached via the D23 in just five minutes.
