The Hirschen shines in new splendor - 20min 20min.ch from August 21, 2002

ZÜRICH - New life at the Hotel Hirschen on Hirschenplatz in Zurich's Niederdorf. After more than two years of renovation, Zurich's oldest hotel (since 1703) presents itself in new splendor: with 27 rooms, two terraces, a breakfast room and, as a jewel, a wine tavern in the vaulted cellar.

This is an oasis for the proud landlord Hanspeter Graf: "simply a place to let your soul dangle".

The "Gasthof Hirschen", now located in the heart of the Old Town's pedestrian zone, was first mentioned over 300 years ago.
As soon as you enter the building through the old wooden door and climb the steps to the reception, the old wall - still interwoven with original wooden beams - transports you into the history of long-forgotten days. And the history can be felt and seen in many corners of our house. Originally three houses that grew together, today you can expect very individual rooms with the charm of a historic old town house.
