Do you assess your pupils? In a Montessori school, assessment is not a tool used to classify children, still less to put them in competition with each other. Daily observation of the children by the teachers is a very powerful tool for adapting teaching to the specific needs of each child. The progress, difficulties and successes of each child are noted every day in order to define the most appropriate and effective work plan possible. Two parent/teacher meetings are organised each year to discuss each child's progress. What happens to children after a 3-6 Montessori?
