Founded July 1st 1985 the Swiss Association for Horological Research (ASRH) conducts communautary research programs for its members. These research projects aim to exploit scientific and technological advances to foster the leading position of the Swiss watch industry. The members of the association are watchmaking companies - brands and manufactures - products and service providers of the sector, as well as research laboratories and institutions related to the watchmaking industry. Serving its members, the association plays a leading role for the creation and management of communautary reasearch projects whose realization is attributed to Swiss or international laboratories chosen for their excellence in the domain. The research projects are realized for consortia of industrial partners who finance and own in common the exclusive results of the project .
