History:

As a child, Georges Ruffieux already had big ideas. He used to say " when I grow up, I'll have a restaurant "... Nobody wanted to believe him !

" If you don't go after what you want, you'll never get it."

In 1973, Georges and Nelly Ruffieux took over the Auberge de l'enfant du bon chœur in Pont-la-ville. They ran the establishment for 4 years. It was in 1977 that they had the opportunity to become proprietors and moved to La Croix-Blanche in Epagny.

" Choose a job you love, and you won't have to work a day in your life "

Over the years they've built up a fine reputation and never stop making the establishment even more beautiful by renovating it several times. Even though it's located, in Georges' words, " in the slums of the cité comtale " it nonetheless becomes their little kingdom.

" Ideas belong to those who realize them "

It was on a trip to Madeira with their children that the couple, always interested in new ideas, discovered the " pierrades " system at a local restaurant. On their return, the concept, slightly modified and adapted, was launched at La Croix-Blanche. It's an immediate success!

" Men make their history, even if they don't know the history they're making. "

In September 2008, far too soon, Georges Ruffieux left the great party of life. He leaves a great void, but through his restaurant leaves a small memory for everyone.

It's Nelly Ruffieux who continues their realization. Full of courage, she handles the boat with great knowledge, motivation and backed by a loyal team.

In July 2013 it was Carine , the daughter, who took up the torch. Continuing in the same vein but with new ideas, she perpetuates the Ruffieux family's 37-year presence at La Croix-Blanche in Epagny.
