The Caviano and the discovery of Monte Generoso

Mount Generoso is one of the most scenic mountains in Ticino The Alpe di Caviano can be considered the ideal destination for a day hike or a stay in nature, and can be reached on foot starting from Castel San Pietro or Bellavista. Walking in these places offers breathtaking views.

Terraces, contemplation and relaxation

The Alpe di Caviano offers a relaxing environment with panoramic views of the Po Valley and the Alps. The main building overlooks a large meadow where wild animals graze freely. The view is spectacular at sunrise and sunset, also visible from the rooms on the second floor and from the terrace in the courtyard. An ideal place to enjoy moments of tranquility and contemplation.

Panoramas and Surrounding Areas

On the terrace of Alpe di Caviano you can enjoy a wide and breathtaking landscape, ideal for spotting wildlife. The surrounding knoll is perfect for meditation, while the adjacent pasture is great for paragliding. The network of hiking trails makes it possible to explore the area, including Scudellate, , where other facilities of the Albergo Diffuso del Monte Generoso are located.

Breakfasts and aperitifs

After enjoying a peaceful and relaxing night's sleep, we invite you to enjoy a tasty breakfast of local products, which will be served until 08.30 on the rooftop terrace. In case of bad weather we will be pleased to welcome you in the cozy restaurant. 

Aperitifs will be served from 17:30 in the afternoon and will allow you to taste local red and white wines, as well as other liquors.

November through March, upon request, for private events or groups of minimum 6 people, the kitchen is open from 12:00 to 14:30 and from 19:00 to 21:00

Typical dishes

The restaurant offers 30 seats and is carefully decorated to evoke the places dear to the culture and tradition of the region and Monte Generoso. Outside, a beautiful terrace (30 seats) allows you to enjoy the fabulous view while savoring tasty, carefully cooked typical dishes, mainly related to the local tradition (cured meats, braised and grilled meats, polenta, risottos, soups, cheeses and cheeses). By reservation, it is possible to convert the indoor restaurant space into a multi-purpose room, organize a private event, reserve the small terrace on the second floor or the table near the Milk Tollbooth, for a small private event.

In the spacious attic attic, a comfortable dormitory with 10 single beds and with floor-level services welcomes you under a pitched roof where you can breathe in the typical air of an alpine hut.
