Care and support

At the Verahus Senior Center, you will enjoy high-quality, needs-based, and individualized care and support. Our goal is to offer you the best possible quality of life throughout your stay. We want you to be able to live independently in your new home for as long as possible.

Our competent and experienced care staff are dedicated to your well-being around the clock. They have the necessary training and are kept up to date with the latest developments through ongoing training.

Our residents who require more support are looked after by our care staff in their residential group during the day. In addition to organizing daily activities and providing a sense of community, the care group also offers a protected environment where the individual needs of residents can be addressed.

 

Living

Whether as a new home, a temporary solution after a hospital stay, or for a vacation, we are accustomed to finding flexible and individual solutions for our clients.

Verahus offers 48 bright, friendly single rooms, some with different floor plans and sanitary facilities. Each room has a telephone, TV connection, and Wi-Fi. The basic equipment in each room also includes an electronic nursing bed and a matching bedside table. The furniture can be chosen individually by the residents and their relatives. Almost all rooms have a bright, glazed balcony with a view of the garden, the vastness of the Rhine Valley, and the mountain ranges of Vorarlberg.

In our beautiful garden, various paths and seating areas invite you to stroll and linger. The small animal enclosure with goats, chickens, and a fish pond is another attraction that delights young and old alike.

Cafeteria and catering

Our charming cafeteria with a beautiful outdoor terrace is open to the public 365 days a year from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Upon request, we also offer lunch and/or dinner in the cafeteria for relatives and guests every day. Relatives and visitors are welcome to attend events in our cafeteria.

We value healthy and varied cuisine. All meals are freshly prepared every day by our kitchen team. We mainly use seasonal products from the immediate region.

Spitex center

The Spitex Center Verahus Balgach offers outpatient nursing and care services to people who need assistance.

With its wide range of services, the center promotes, supports, and enables people to live at home in the event of illness, accident, disability, old age, and convalescence.

Services

Health and nursing care

In the event of temporary, incurable, or chronic illness, accident, or disability, after a hospital stay, in the event of declining strength, stressful situations, or approaching death, the specialists at the Verahus Spitex Center provide care that is as situation-specific and individualized as possible, involving family members. Their care services bring quality of life back into the home. Their numerous tasks include, among other things

• Daily personal care
• Medically prescribed treatments such as administering medication, changing dressings, measuring blood pressure, etc.
• Care and support for the seriously ill and dying
• Advice, guidance, and relief for family members providing care

household help

The Spitexzentrum Verahus supports people of all ages with housekeeping or takes on tasks that are part of running a household, such as weekly cleaning of the home, doing the laundry, weekly shopping, or minor administrative tasks and errands.

Rental of aids

We rent out various care aids such as walkers, wheelchairs, commodes, etc. as needed.

Costs and financing

Spitex nursing and domestic help services are provided on medical prescription and are billed through health insurance in accordance with legal regulations. Please note that domestic help services are only co-financed through supplementary insurance. If you have any questions about financing, Ms. Marianne Bush, Head of Spitex, will be happy to help.

Online registration via OPAN

OPAN® is the online registration system for Spitex nursing or services.

By providing your personal details, health insurance, family doctor, and Spitex order, you can submit your registration electronically at any time, securely and easily. You can do this for yourself or for another person (relatives, acquaintances, etc.). The selected Spitex organization will then call you back and, if necessary, advise you and clarify any open questions.
