CHILD CARE

We provide hourly childcare for children aged 18 months to 12 years, but also offer regular daycare.

The Basler Kindernäscht is located in the center of Basel. Our rooms are very spacious and colorfully designed. They offer children plenty of space to play, run around, do crafts, or even retreat.

Children with disabilities or limitations are also very welcome here. Our experienced team lovingly cares for the children and integrates them into play and social interaction with others. Our goal is to support parents a little and/or give them a few hours of free time while their children have fun and let off steam with us.

Our opening hours:

Monday – Friday 8:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.

Saturday 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

The caregivers:

All our caregivers are experienced in childcare and have the appropriate qualifications in childcare, education, or body-oriented work. At least two of our employees are always available for your children. We have set up an additional on-call service for emergencies.

Despite the wide range of activities on offer, we also place great importance on free play, as the Kindernäscht is not intended to be a substitute for kindergarten. Children should be able to do what they want, develop their own ideas, and do so without any pressure to perform.

At Kindernäscht, we strive to create an atmosphere of mutual acceptance and consideration. Play should encourage cooperation. Shy children have just as much space as active and dynamic ones.

Safety / Liability & Prices

Our caregivers are carefully instructed on how to proceed in the event of accidents, fire alarms, etc. A doctor's office located directly in the building ensures that first aid can be provided.

We accept no liability for damage to toys or clothing brought to the center; therefore, liability insurance is the responsibility of the parents, as is health insurance.

CHILDREN'S BIRTHDAY PARTIES

Would you like to celebrate an unforgettable birthday party with your child in a child-friendly environment? Basler Kindernäscht rents out its rooms for children's birthday parties on Sundays. We take care of the preparation and tidying up of the premises. Of course, you are welcome to let us know your wishes or themes, or to be involved in the preparations.

For the birthday party, we require:

• 2 supervisors if the parents are not present and/or there are more than 11 children.
• 1 caregiver for every 10 children if the parents are present.

The Kindernäscht can accommodate a maximum of 20 children.

Drinks such as syrup and mineral water are available free of charge. Other drinks and food, such as cake, chips, etc., are the responsibility of the parents.

Rental fee for the Basler Kindernäscht: CHF 250

Care staff per person per hour: CHF 35

An additional hour is always charged for preparation, decoration, and tidying up.

For legal and insurance reasons, a caregiver is always present.

Our principles

At the Basler Kindernäscht, we give kids ages 18 months to 12 years a chance to enjoy themselves in a dynamic and reflective way. It is important to us that we provide the children with a variety of games and entertainment. We don't support the use of computer games, videos, TV, etc., and these have no place at the Basler Kindernäscht.

Duration

Your child can come to us when you need last-minute care or for regular daily care.

Reservations

Once you are sure that you want to make a reservation, please call us as soon as possible. If we have a full house of 20 children, we will be unable to take care of your child.

Food

If you plan to bring your child during lunchtime, please prepare a lunch for him or her. Your child will receive a healthy snack in the morning and in the afternoon.

Essentials

For the little ones: non-slip socks or slippers, pacifier (dummy), diapers, and a change of clothing

For the older ones: just non-slip socks or slippers (optional).

Our staff

All of our workers have the necessary experience and qualifications in the care of children, education, and/or bodywork. There are always at least two workers who take care of the children at any given time. We utilize a call service in case of emergency.

Safety and responsibility

Our workers are carefully instructed in how to respond to an accident, fire alarm, etc. A doctor's office in the building is available for first aid. The Basler Kindernäscht is in possession of a document from the Department of Education Basel, which confirms the necessary qualifications for the services we provide. Health insurance and liability insurance for the children is the parents' responsibility. We do not take responsibility for damage to the clothing or toys that the children bring along.

Information about your child

Parents are responsible for providing accurate information on the forms provided, especially regarding the health of the child. If your child needs medication, please bring it along in the original packaging, with the child's first name, surname, the daily dose, and the date on it.

Drop-off and pick-up

If someone else is going to pick up your child, please let us know. Make sure you let us know when you are planning to pick up your child, so that we can let other parents know when places are available. We require that you provide us with a phone number in case of emergency.

Please note that our office hours are Monday-Friday 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Saturday 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

You have a grace period of 5 minutes. After those 5 minutes, we will charge for half an hour.

If you bring your child before 8:00 a.m. or pick them up after 6:00 p.m., we impose a surcharge of 25.00 CHF per hour.

Payment

Payment in cash is required at the time of pick-up. The rate is 11.00 CHF per hour with a minimum of 1 hour. You are charged for the first hour and in half-hour increments thereafter. If you bring a sibling, the rate is 9.00 CHF per hour.

We offer a discount for 10 hours: 1 child 99.00 CHF / 2 children 180.00 CHF. That means, you receive one “free” hour with this offer.

If you pick up your child after our opening hours, we will charge you an additional CHF 25.

Illness and other issues

We are unable to care for children who are ill. We are also unable to accept children who behave in a disruptive manner in the group. If this occurs, we will discuss the situation with you. In case of questions, difficulties, or concerns, please contact Mrs. Letizia Marioni or Mrs. Gigi Vaneck-Zjören (leadership, personal issues).

In case of any legal disputes, these will be resolved under the laws of Basel-Stadt.
