A. Flum GmbH Orthopedic Technology
Our services:
- Orthotics
Orthotics are designed to guide and correct the musculoskeletal system. Special orthotics can often make life easier for those affected or prevent existing conditions from worsening.
When used postoperatively, they support the healing process. All orthotics are made from plaster casts, and the joints and materials are determined based on biomechanical principles.
This precise customization enables our patients to walk more easily and safely.
We distinguish between different types of orthotics:
Lower extremities
Insoles
correct the foot and fit into any shoe. Insoles are manufactured using a computerized pressure measurement system.

- Prosthetics
- Prostheses are designed to replace a limb. The amputation of a limb can be traumatic in nature or caused by arterial occlusion.
Each prosthesis is individually designed for each patient. The prosthesis is constructed according to biomechanical principles to enable physiological and low-energy walking.
The use of state-of-the-art materials, prosthetic feet, and knee joints makes the prosthesis as light as possible.
The wide range of options available means that every patient can find a solution that meets their individual needs and problems.
We distinguish between different types of prostheses:
Lower extremities
Foot prosthesis

- Seat shells
Seat shells in wheelchairs enable patients to sit pain-free and relaxed.
What does "sitting normally" mean? Sitting still and motionless is unphysiological and requires a lot of strength. Even sitting upright without support is not a resting position and can only be maintained for a short time. As a rule, shifting the torso, head, or limbs constantly changes the body's center of gravity, thereby achieving a changing load on the muscles and joints. This constant movement is a natural phenomenon.
Sitting is therefore not a problem for able-bodied people. They can either change their position on the chair or sit in a more comfortable chair. For patients who are unable to walk and are confined to a wheelchair, constant changes in posture are often only possible to a limited extent or even impossible. The only change in position that is often observed is the tilting back and ventral sliding of the pelvis. The consequences of an excessive sitting angle, pressure ulcers on the sacrum, are often due to incorrect sitting posture.
Therefore, a symmetrical and physiological posture in the base of the pelvis should be aimed for. The seat shell should enable the disabled person to perform activities, correct skeletal deformities, and allow maximum relaxation of the muscles.

- Wheelchairs & walking aids
We invite you to take a comprehensive look at wheelchairs and rehabilitation aids. Limited mobility is an issue that can affect everyone at some point, either directly or as a relative. We have therefore tried to design the following information in such a way that it answers questions for anyone interested in aids for older people and people with disabilities. We are also happy to provide advice on how to use the aids or tell you where you can find further information.
