Welcome to the Port Museum Swiss Transport Hub

We welcome you to the Port Museum Swiss Transport Hub. 

The exhibition was first opened in 1954 under the name "Our Way to the Sea" by the Schweizerische Reederei und Neptun AG, which set up a foundation called "Our Way to the Sea". Nicolas Jaquet, Director of Schweizerische Reederei und Neptun AG, provides the necessary funds.
On the occasion of the "2nd Swiss Exhibition for Gardening and Landscaping Green 80", the Rhine port is given special significance as an attraction. As a result, the exhibition is revised and reopened in 1981, with the Swiss shipping company and Neptun AG once again providing major support.

In 1992, the "Our Way to the Sea" foundation is transformed into the "Swiss Transport Hub" association. With the highly committed President Heinz H. Merzweiler and with the help of sponsors, the association develops a completely redesigned exhibition, which it opens two years later.

In 2019, 25 years later, the association's board of directors and President Rolf Schlebach decide that the 1954 building needs to be completely renovated. The "Swiss Transport Hub" exhibition will be updated, redesigned and opened in July 2021.

The association is supported by over 100 individual, corporate and patron members.
