At the kidney clinic in the center of Bern at Bubenbergplatz 5 (close to the main train station, see map), patients undergo outpatient examinations of their heart and, in particular, their kidneys. The clinic has its own laboratory, X-ray and ultrasound diagnostic facilities, and appropriate therapies are carried out on an outpatient basis. In the case of complex and more serious illnesses, Dr. Vogt's patients are further examined and treated on an outpatient or inpatient basis at Lindenhof Hospital. A modern dialysis unit is available here for outpatient and inpatient renal replacement therapy. Both hemodialysis and CAPD (continuous ambulatory peritoneal dialysis) are performed and instructed. The peritoneal dialysis method (abdominal dialysis) is performed at home as an outpatient therapy for chronic kidney failure.
