Description
A warm welcome
Chinese medicine is based on the assumption that a body must be in balance in order to be healthy and vital. If regions are blocked, too hot or too cold, too full or too empty, too moist or too dry, illness develops. Such imbalances are recognized by means of a detailed diagnosis by questioning the individual bodily functions and sensations, observing the tongue and feeling the pulse, and can consequently be treated and brought back into harmony. This can heal illnesses.
In the beginning is the conversation. External influences (weather, viruses, poor posture, etc.) are recognized in Chinese medicine as pathogenic factors, as are emotions. It is therefore important to find the patterns that cause illness in order to create an individual treatment plan.
Alternative medicine
Alternative medicine is a big topic these days. But what exactly is alternative medicine?
A degree in alternative medicine, such as the one I completed in traditional Chinese medicine, specializing in acupuncture and tuina, includes many hours of conventional medicine in addition to the specialist subjects. This is to know about the nature and function of the body, to understand why a disease develops, but also to recognize the signs when a patient needs to be referred to conventional medicine, which is of course essential in some cases.
Unfortunately, the opinion about alternative medicine is still strongly influenced by the attitude: "you have to believe in it" or "if nothing has worked through conventional medicine, try alternative medicine".
This is a great pity, because alternative medicine has hardly any side effects. In contrast, side effects from medication can cause harm, as can unnecessary operations. After that, it is also difficult for alternative medicine to cure a person.
If you want to balance your health with alternative medicine, you need to take responsibility for your own health. It doesn't work according to the motto: Please mend me quickly so that I can function again. Instead, part of the healing process involves identifying the causes and making lifestyle changes accordingly. This scares most people at first, or they are too comfortable. But if you set out on this path, you soon realize that living more in harmony with your own body and its needs makes you more fulfilled and happier.
Acupuncture
The excitation of nerve cells works by means of the body's own electricity. In some cases, a brief electrification occurs when the needle reaches the acupuncture point. This, together with the relaxing effect of about 25 minutes in the acupuncture needles to regenerate, explains the effectiveness of acupuncture.
Pain therapy with acupuncture Problems in the musculoskeletal system, e.g. knees, shoulders, elbows, back and other pain such as headaches can be treated very effectively with a combination of acupuncture, electro-acupuncture, cupping and massage without side effects.
Diseases and acupuncture The WHO has published a large list of diseases that can be treated with acupuncture. Are you suffering from something and would you like to take an alternative path, with or without cooperation with conventional medicine? I would be happy to explain to you the chances of success or possibilities of treatment with acupuncture individually for your clinical picture. (see also list at the bottom)
Psychosomatics and acupuncture A little palpitation or stinging, stomach pain, constipation, flatulence or diarrhea, irritability, emerging sleep problems, no longer completely satisfied, listless, tired, excessive sadness for no apparent reason, inner nervousness, beginning questions about meaning, eternally cold or even hot, loss of appetite or excessive appetite, etc. Symptoms of this kind show us that we are no longer fully centered. Before they develop into serious illnesses, they are a good signpost for us as to where exactly we are at an impasse or which issues want to surface. Acupuncture, combined with an individual consultation, which can bring about new ways of thinking, is a wonderful and effective way to feel completely healthy again and to find out in which direction we want to go. To unearth our desires, to become aware of them, to get back in touch with our life energy.
Health care Regular treatment with a combination of massage and acupuncture, or acupressure, every 2 to 8 weeks, even if we are basically feeling well, is a luxury of time and treating yourself to something, an oasis from everyday life, which can contribute significantly to our well-being and staying healthy
Acupuncture and the regulation of rhythms Regulated digestion, a regular menstrual cycle, restful sleep and vital waking phases, the balance of relaxation and activity are as much a part of being healthy as day and night and the changing seasons. Here too, a combination of acupuncture, discussions and dietary adjustments offer good support.
Fields of application are, for example:
Allergies: hay fever, asthma, skin diseases
Pain: neck and back pain, lumbago, disc hernia, headaches, migraines, rheumatism, osteoarthritis, gout, fibromyalgia
Digestion: Abdominal pain, gastritis, heartburn, flatulence, food intolerances, constipation, diarrhoea, irritable bowel syndrome, chronic inflammatory bowel diseases such as Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis
Gynaecology: menstrual disorders, gynaecological disorders, desire to have children, menopausal symptoms
Psyche: Exhaustion, restlessness, sleep problems, depressive moods, anxiety, cardiac arrhythmia, stress, burnout syndrome
Skin: Eczema, acne, itching, neurodermatitis, psoriasis, shingles, hives
Immune system: Chronic infections such as tonsillitis, nasal or sinusitis, cystitis, bronchitis, eye inflammation, susceptibility to flu-like infections
Other: Hypertension, tinnitus, symptoms of multiple sclerosis, sexual disorders, hormonal disorders, obesity, addictions
Tuina is a form of massage used in Chinese medicine
Depending on the complaint, I treat with the following elements:
Energy-balancing meridian massage - acupressure
Through a targeted massage along the meridians (energy lines) and possible stimulation of certain acupuncture points (without needles), a balancing and harmonizing effect is achieved.
Foot reflexology
The feet contain reflex zones for all organs, muscles, skeleton and nerves. This means you can treat the whole person with a foot massage
Manual medicine and Dorn/Breuss treatment - straightening structures
The causes of back pain are sometimes shifts or misalignments in the statics: in the pelvis, in individual vertebrae or in the joints. By massaging the spine with Johannis oil and manual medicine, the skeleton can be straightened, space can be created for intervertebral discs and pain can be relieved in the long term.
Cupping and cupping head massage
Cupping is an ancient healing method that has fortunately been making a comeback in recent times. Cupping strengthens the immune system and relieves stubborn tension
Painting therapy as self-awareness
Dealing with colors and shapes is very exciting and enriching. Being the creator of your own picture is invigorating and the deep concentration that arises when painting brings us relaxation and a chance to retreat to ourselves. Of course, painting also boosts our creativity, which we can also use in everyday life.
Free creative expression is one of the basic human needs and painting is a basic skill that everyone is born with. All we need is a love of experimentation and a willingness to try something new.The pictures are painted at home, taken into practice and discussed. This provides inspiration for releasing hidden blockages or finding a key that opens an unexpected door for the rest of your life.
NLP
Neuro-linguistic programming (NLP) helps you to become the artist of your life and actively influence your health and well-being. You learn to shape the quality of your inner images, sounds and feelings in such a way that joy and courage to face life arise and you live in harmony with this image of yourself. With NLP, you can grow all the potential abilities that are already within you. Good for upcoming decisions, addiction reduction and weight optimization, for example, or if you lack the courage to make changes, etc.
If the clinical picture to be treated is one of dragging illnesses, acupuncture can be used as a nourishing treatment, but in this case the person also needs something that they can take to replenish the deposits. medicinal mushrooms offer a wonderful opportunity for this.
Vital mushrooms are generally characterized by their high content of vitamins, minerals, amino acids and enzymes. There are also various secondary ingredients such as polysaccharides. The great potential of medicinal mushrooms lies precisely in the composition of the active ingredients, for example in inhibiting inflammation, immune modulation and protecting the body's cells.
Frequent areas of application for medicinal mushrooms:
- Strengthening the body's own defenses
- Regulation of gastrointestinal functions
- Strengthens the heart and circulation, improves the flow properties of the blood and has a balancing effect on blood pressure
- Positive effect on blood sugar and blood lipid levels
- Modulation of the immune system in the case of allergies and autoimmune diseases
- Gentle balance for nervousness and mood disorders
- Supportive treatment for cancer and other tumor diseases, also improving the tolerance of conventional medical therapies
