Additional presentation of osteopathy in the aquatic environment
Treatment in warm water brings many benefits to the patient :
.. Partial abolition of gravity and one's own support points
.. Use of the analgesic and circulatory properties of hot water (+/- 35 degrees)
.. Environment favoring overall relaxation, unwinding and letting go
Ostheopathy in an aquatic environment offers interesting prospects for patients living with chronic and acute pain, post-operative recovery, discomfort during pregnancy, muscular tension and stress.
For the practitioner, working in water enables better observation of the patient's movements, reactions and adaptive positions as they evolve while floating in water.
In his aquatic practice, the practitioner becomes " a fixed point " and the patient, who floats without his points of support, balances between the practitioner's hands.
The aim of this treatment is to enable the patient to reconnect with their support points and with themselves.
Passive movements in the water facilitate letting go, body awareness and a state of deep relaxation.
