The OsteoLa Tour-de-Trême osteopathy practice is located just outside Bulle. It has been in existence since 1993. It currently brings together a team of osteopaths with a wide range of skills. The advantage of the group is that it gives the practice flexibility and allows us to satisfy all our patients, as well as treat clients in an emergency when necessary.
Osteopathy is an art of healing, a medicine in its own right, a hands-on medicine that first appeared in the US at the end of the 19th century. Osteopathy is a gentle, inexpensive, fast, and non-polluting form of medicine.
Its inventor was Mr. Andrew Taylor Still. His intuition told him that the body has everything it needs to function properly. With his bare hands, he began to save people from the often fatal diseases of the time, such as high fevers, diphtheria, pneumonia, mumps, etc. He was considered a miracle worker and people came from far and wide to see him. "From now on," he said, "I will follow the dictates of nature and throw medicine to the dogs."
The idea that bone misalignment could affect the functioning of organs and viscera was revolutionary!
Osteopathy specifically acts on:
- the orthopedic system: joint pain, tendonitis, sprains, pubalgia, neck pain, lower back pain, back pain, pain following a major trauma (sports, car accident, etc.).
- the neurological system: cruralgia, neuralgia, migraines, sciatica, etc.
- the neurovegetative system: anxiety, stress, anguish, depression, sleep disorders, burnout, etc.
- Digestive system: digestive disorders, functional colopathy, bloating, heartburn, certain herniated discs, gastroesophageal reflux
- Circulatory system: circulatory disorders, venous congestion, hemorrhoids, edema, palpitations, tachycardia, etc.
- ENT and pulmonary system: rhinitis, ear infections, chronic sinusitis, dizziness, imbalance, snoring, swallowing disorders, etc.
- Dermatological system: post-operative or non-post-operative scar tissue, post-radiotherapy, etc.
- Urogynecological system: painful periods, recurrent urinary tract infections, amenorrhea, pregnancy monitoring, etc.
Osteopathy is also suitable for pregnant women and babies (see pediatric osteopathy tab) and for orthodontic issues (see pregnancy and baby tab).
