Tens of thousands of women and men in Switzerland care for family members. Without these unpaid services, healthcare costs would rise sharply. But these caregivers need support themselves. Politicians have now recognized this too.

Time commitment and monetary value of care and support provided by family members

In Switzerland, family members perform a total of around 64 million hours of unpaid work caring for and supporting their loved ones. The value of this work amounts to CHF 3.5 billion. For the NPO Spitex, care safety is a top priority.
