Who can request Spitex services?

Our services are available to all residents of any age in the municipalities of Elgg, Hagenbuch, Elsau, Schlatt, and Wiesendangen who are dependent on help and care at home due to illness, accident, disability, physical impairment, mental illness, infirmity, palliative care, or maternity.

What is important to us

• People in need of care should be able to remain in their familiar surroundings for as long as possible. Or they should be able to return home from hospital or rehabilitation as soon as possible.
• Clients should be able to maintain their independence and autonomy. We want to support them in this.
• We want to relieve the burden on relatives, friends, and neighbors of people in need of care and assistance so that they can cope with the care and support and thus remain healthy themselves.

Assessment and consultation

If you need our help, please give us a call. A specialist will arrange an appointment with you and discuss the situation at your home. Together, we will define the services and record them in writing on an order confirmation. The agreements made are binding and confidential.

Treatment care

For example:

• Wound care
• Blood pressure and blood sugar measurements
• Medication management
• Injections
• Catheter/stoma care
• Infusion therapy

Basic care

Support or assistance with activities of daily living, such as:

• Dressing and undressing
• Assistance with morning and evening care
• Eating meals
• Putting on compression stockings
• Bandaging legs
• Walking training
• Mobility exercises
• Mobilization

These services are covered by compulsory health insurance (minus the deductible).

Domestic help

You are entitled to Spitex domestic services (with a doctor's referral) in cases such as illness, accident, convalescence, discharge from hospital, or inability to perform household tasks independently.

Spitex takes on tasks such as:

• Weekly cleaning (vacuuming, cleaning floors, cleaning bathrooms, dusting)
• Doing the laundry
• Shopping
• Monitoring a healthy diet
• Heating meals

The costs are not covered by compulsory health insurance, but may be covered by supplementary insurance.
