Our butcher shop has been around since 1974 and spans two generations. A lot has happened during this time. Read more about the history of Chämi-Metzg below:
2023
After more than 40 years, Chämi-Metzg offers a wide variety of different products and specialties. Their homemade sauces are also very popular at parties, fondue evenings, and cozy barbecues.
2006
At the beginning of 2006, the butcher's shop underwent a two-month renovation from the ground up. Now that the renovation is complete, Chämi-Metzg AG shines in new splendor. The family business was completed by the daughter of Verena and Guido Wüest, Sulastri Seeger. She is responsible for the administrative area.
2003
In 2003, Verena and Guido Wüest's son, Marcel Wüest, took over the management of the butcher's shop. In the same year, chämi metzg was converted into a public limited company and entered in the commercial register as a family business. Also in 2003, Mr. Paul Kneubühler left the butcher's shop after 26 years to pursue new opportunities.
1977
In 1977, the sole proprietorship was converted into a general partnership. In the following years, chämi metzg became known beyond the borders of Fislisbach and made an excellent name for itself in the Baden region.
1975
After a year, in 1975, his future partner Paul Kneubühler joined the business and brought many new ideas with him. As a well-coordinated team, they developed two great creations of their own: the best-selling Parisian and barbecue sauces.
1974
In 1974, Guido Wüest and his wife Verena took over the existing Brunnenhof butcher's shop in Fislisbach. The couple redesigned the butcher's shop and specialized in gourmet foods for the Chämi-Grill and Cheminée. Hence the new name: Chämi-Metzg. The opening took place on October 1, 1974, and delighted new customers with Black Forest ham and wine at discount prices.
