Readers visit hospitals, clinics, convalescent homes, EMS, but also AT HOME.

Our concept : to bring human warmth, pleasure and entertainment to alleviate loneliness, while continuing to develop the intellectual faculties of those who, alone, are in danger of no longer caring.

Our means : readings of course ! But also board games, Scrabble, crossword puzzles, arrow puzzles, checkers, chess, card games... Anything that can encourage intellectual exchange and reflection from people who may no longer be "economically active" but who remain quite lucid in their personal choices.

Many people find themselves immobilized for an indefinite period, following a temporary or more serious problem, or simply due to their advanced age ;they get bored, not knowing what to do with their new state.

Thus, convalescence or old age, which should be a positive and enriching time when everyone could enjoy more time for themselves, often engenders great sadness and even guilt that can lead to a sort of intellectual, mental and moral abandonment towards a life that would no longer be ours.

To read is to encounter, through the intermediary of the text, another thought, another sensibility and to dialogue with it.

The readers of Lecture et Compagnie lend their voices on request- to share the emotion of a novel, the suspense of a detective story, the interest of a biography, the pleasure of a tale, the content of a newspaper article, a magazine or any other work whose choice remains that of the listener.
