Perfectsmile One team – one philosophy
Our goal is to offer you, the patient, the best possible, individually tailored treatment. Together, we want to achieve functional integration combined with an aesthetic smile. This means high-quality, efficient work with the shortest possible treatment time. As the patient, you are the focus of our attention. We listen to you, take our time, and provide you with comprehensive information. The top priority is the best result and your satisfaction.
The treatment
At the beginning of each treatment, consultation and planning are essential. In three steps, we determine whether treatment is necessary and, if so, what kind. We determine the start, duration, and goal of the treatment and calculate the costs. Children and adolescents must be accompanied by a parent for the consultation.
Step
During our first consultation, we will inform you about the following:
- the nature of your tooth and jaw misalignment
- whether treatment is necessary
- what a possible treatment might look like
- the different types of orthodontic appliances
- What are the approximate costs?
- And: How long will the treatment take approximately?
- Does the misalignment meet the criteria for school dental care?
Step 2
If you decide to proceed with a detailed assessment, we will conduct two further consultations and examinations before starting treatment.
We will compile documentation and a detailed assessment with X-rays, jaw models, and photos. This will then be analyzed, and a diagnosis, treatment plan, and cost estimate will be prepared.
We will clarify in advance whether the malocclusion meets the IV criteria.
Step
In a third step, we will discuss the treatment plan (in the presence of the parents in the case of children) and provide you with a written cost estimate. You can then take your time to decide whether you want orthodontic treatment for yourself or your child.
Dental care
Good oral hygiene keeps teeth healthy. If you take care of your teeth, they will last a lifetime and you won't need dentures.
Many children today have damaged teeth. This is due in part to a diet high in sugar and in part to poor dental care. Early and regular care of baby teeth and later permanent teeth is crucial.
Parents need a lot of creativity to make brushing their children's teeth appealing. We are happy to support you and your children in this.
- Dental plaque causes tooth decay and gum inflammation.
- Braces are additional dirt traps and promote the formation of plaque.
- Sugary foods and drinks increase bacterial plaque and the risk of tooth decay.
- If oral hygiene is inadequate, wearing braces is not advisable and treatment must be discontinued.
- Teeth and braces must be cleaned properly every day. After brushing your teeth, simply spit out fluoride toothpaste and do not rinse with water! Anyone who wears fixed braces should rinse daily with a fluoride solution.
- We charge for additional teeth cleaning, fluoridation, and toothbrushing instructions due to inadequate oral hygiene.
- For treatments covered by disability insurance, preventive measures must be billed privately.
- We will practice special cleaning techniques for fixed or removable appliances with you.
