LA STORIA

It all started with Pascal Sonderegger and his enthusiasm for Italy. One day, the opportunity arose to realize this enthusiasm in a time-honored business: the Chartreuse. In August 2015, the Sonderegger family bought the house and Pascal Sonderegger took over the business together with Karin Villiger.

Our cuisine

In our restaurant we enchant your senses. Scents of fresh herbs, garlic and fine roasted aromas - at Chartreuse you will be welcomed by the best ambassadors of Italy.

Let yourself be surprised by authentic delicacies from the regions of Italy. How about wafer-thin Prosciutto di Parma, freshly sliced on our "Berkel" from 1918? Followed by a symphony of antipasti, primi, secondi and dolci: your palate will be delighted, as all dishes are prepared by Giacomo, Giulia and Davide according to Italian culinary art.
We are also happy to cater to the wishes of vegetarians and allergy sufferers.

Immerse yourself in the world of Italian wines. Here you will find rarities and great wines. But our heart also beats for small, family-owned wineries whose excellent wines are just waiting to be discovered.

Our rooms

At the Chartreuse, your time is all yours: Enjoy the sun's rays when you wake up, look out over the greenery or the mountains. Start the day with a hearty breakfast and the kind of coffee you'll only find in Italy. We make sure you have a peaceful stay, whether you're on vacation on Lake Thun, on a short trip or on business.

All rooms were completely renovated in 2019 and furnished with attention to detail. Facilities include TV, free Wi-Fi, hairdryer, shower and safe.
