Who is the Rotonda

The Rotonda Foundation in Jegenstorf is a private foundation established in 2002. It is under the supervision of the Board of Trustees and the Foundation Supervisory Authority of the Canton of Bern. The purpose of the foundation is to run a retirement home, a residential care center and a day care center for children.

In 2000, the district hospital was closed as part of the canton of Bern's hospital reform. In April 2002, the Rotonda Foundation took over the district hospital with the aim of creating a residential facility for the elderly in Jegenstorf. The opening of both the residence and the residential care center took place in late autumn 2004.

The Rotonda retirement center is located slightly elevated at the northern end of the village of Jegenstorf on the main Bern - Solothurn road.

The Rotonda is easily accessible by public transport. Gaps in the timetable are closed by the Rotonda's own shuttle bus.
