Historical ballroom and stage dance

Since the 1970s, old dance forms have been reconstructed by researchers such as Taubert, Lancelot, and Sparti. This has led to the development of a lively worldwide scene of historical dances from the Renaissance, Baroque, Rococo, and Romantic periods. Choreographies were created by dance masters from various eras and were recorded. Dances such as the Anglaise, Mazurka, Quadrille, Polka, and Waltz were popular with the bourgeoisie. French and Italian treatises documented precise step sequences. Medieval dances such as the Ronde and Farandole have also been reconstructed. I pass on this cultural heritage in courses and workshops.
