School of architecture, interior design, decoration, graphic design, visual communication, fashion design, pattern making, sewing, design. Professional and personalized training. EDL training programs have enjoyed national and international renown for over 50 years. Bachelor's and master's degrees are integrated into the European Credit Transfer System (ECTS).
EDL, Ecole Dubois Lausanne, is ideally located opposite Lausanne train station.
In 2005, the school was taken over by two HES architects, SIA, Dominique Benoit and Joël Colon, who are registered as agents with CAMAC, the central building permit application office for the canton of Vaud. They practice their profession as architects in their architecture studio at Place de la Gare 4 in Lausanne and give EDL students the opportunity to benefit from the different phases of their architecture and design projects, from preliminary design to execution and from site supervision to final completion.
The teaching is halfway between the principles of the Bauhaus and the spirit of Swiss Design. The artistic training through multidisciplinary workshops aims to promote the convergence of various artistic and practical fields. The teachers in architecture and interior design, industrial and furniture design, graphic design and visual communication, fashion design, and pattern making are all active professionals.
As a result, EDL guarantees high-quality teaching by developing creativity, analytical skills, methodology, rigor, and graphic representation. The qualities of each student at the end of their diploma/bachelor's/master's program, highlighted in their portfolio, also known as a "book," enable them to enter professional life and meet the demands of the job market.
As a member of the sda, Swiss Design Association, which brings together Swiss professionals from all disciplines of design, including industrial design, product design, interior design, graphic design, fashion design, and textile design, EDL students can join the association as junior members to benefit from professional services, exchanges, know-how, and experience.
Member of the IIDA, International Interior Design Association, an international non-profit organization whose goal is to defend the interests of designers, promote the design profession to commerce and industry, and raise awareness among companies about the positive impact of design on people's well-being and health. Through the association, our students have access to all international competitions in the world of design.
In keeping with its artistic spirit, the EDL is a member of the Association du Cercle des Amis du Béjart Ballet Lausanne (BBL) and the Association des amis de Pietro Sarto. It also supports the Neuchâtel painter and sculptor Marcel Mathys.
