Systemic-relational therapy

The Engel & Wächter Studio has a strong theoretical bias in the systemic-relational sense. This means that in dealing with situations for which help is sought, the relational context in which they occur is always emphasized, often involving as an active part of the therapy the people who are part of it. The family is understood as an open system that functions in relation to its sociocultural context and evolves throughout the life cycle, influencing and being influenced by it. The "family system" has great therapeutic potential and for this reason it is always given strong consideration, not only in the analysis aimed at better understanding its dynamics and how they may be related to the reported distress, but also and especially during therapy as an important factor for change.
Although the professional imprint therefore goes in this direction, this does not mean that the therapies carried out are always family therapies. Given the possibility of operating using various forms of psychotherapy (individual, couple, and family), the therapist evaluates from time to time the most suitable solution for the patient and his or her history
