MY PROFESSION
Hi, I'm Carmen and I've been working as a psychologist in Lugano since 2007. I'm a mother of two teenage children, I love traveling and dancing, and I love nature and kindness.
Education:
I studied psychology in Geneva and Lausanne. I then attended the Mara Selvini Palazzoli family psychotherapy school in Mendrisio and Milan. I have worked as a psychotherapist in the field of addiction and eating disorders and as a permanent member of a Regional Protection Authority (ARP). I have been a member of the consulting team for Pro Juventute and a trainer for training days related to childhood as well as experiential group workshops. I have participated in several personal development seminars using psycho-physical techniques, clown therapy, and Vipassana meditation. My continuing education includes training in active listening according to the Thomas Gordon method and EMDR technique for trauma desensitization. Since 2019, I have completed training in the Gottman method for couples therapy and two Teacher Trainings in Hatha Yoga. During the same period, I also began working with the Swiss Red Cross Training Department, which gives me the opportunity to work on prevention (conflict, bullying, and cyberbullying) in local schools.
Languages spoken:
Italian, French, English, and Spanish.
Approach?
I studied at the Mara Selvini Palazzoli School. I have a systemic background, and my approach is oriented towards researching the various factors that contribute to an individual's growth: family, school, and meaningful relationships. Together, we trace the person's life story and retrace the different roles they have played over the years. This allows them to better understand their current discomfort, giving it meaning within their own history.
Services offered:
Individual, couple, and family psychotherapy
EMDR and relaxation techniques
Listening mandates for minors
Supervision
Continuing education and supervision:
I regularly attend supervision sessions with Dr. Annalisa Di Luca
and on the platform formazionecontinuainpsicologia.it.
Waiting time:
5-6 weeks.
Who are the people who seek my help?
Individuals, couples, or families. I work with very young children as well as retirees over 80 years of age. In recent years, I have seen an increase in requests from families with young adolescents.
Where is your office located?
In Lugano, on the third floor of Via Fusoni 5, near the university. The practice has been approved by the Health Department.
