SCuDo, the Lugano public interest home care and nursing service, is an association under private law (art. 60 et seq. CSS). The association is non-denominational and non-partisan, non-profit and recognized as a Public Benefit Entity and as such, subsidized by municipalities and the Canton.
It was born at the end of 1999 by taking over the activities of the Lugano and Surroundings Home Help Service Consortium and the Prophylactic and Maternal Consortium by virtue of the introduction of the new Law on Home Care and Assistance that came into force on January 1, 2000 and updated in 2010.
