The Gerber family has been involved in funeral services in Olten and the surrounding area for 4 generations with expertise and prudence. Today, Jenny Gerber and her husband Oscar Gerber are jointly responsible for the family-owned company Allgemeine Bestattungsdienste Gerber AG. Together, we will continue to strive to provide our services to the public, the authorities and all people confronted with death - day and night.

Authorities

In the event of a death at home, inform your family doctor as soon as possible. If they cannot be reached, inform the emergency doctor. If you urgently need further official assistance, call the police (tel. 117). Once the death of the deceased person has been confirmed, a death certificate will be issued to the relatives, which is essential for dealing with the authorities and the funeral home. The doctor consulted or the management of a clinic, a home or an institution in whose premises the death occurred are obliged to report the death to the civil registry office. Otherwise, deaths of family members must be reported in writing or in person within 2 days.

To simplify the necessary formalities, please have at least the death certificate and the family record booklet (for married couples), possibly the residence or settlement permit ready.

Remember...
to inform other relatives, friends, employer, AHV office and any landlords about the death. We will be happy to help you with any other questions and tasks in the event of a death (inheritance office, insurance, etc.). We are here to help you at any time.
